Professional Advancement Mentor Program
CCHEST has a program by which those holding the OHST and/or CHST certification can gain recognition for helping other safety practitioners advance their careers through certification. A great personal reward is the satisfaction one gains from helping someone else succeed.
Over the years, many certificate holders have encouraged, assisted or required fellow safety practitioners, colleagues, or peers to pursue certification as a means to advancing their careers. In the past, CCHEST has never had a way to recognize many of these contributions.
A small step in that direction is the establishment of a means by which we can trace the role you may play in assisting the career development of someone else and then recognizing your contributions. By filling out the Professional Advancement Mentor Form, BCSP and CCHEST recognizes sponsors and their work with their peers, colleagues and other safety professionals.
Here's how it works:
1. Complete the MENTOR Professional Advancement Mentor Form and give it to a peer, colleague or other safety practitioner who may benefit from pursuing the OHST or CHST.
2. Have the person complete the APPLICANT portion and submit the form with their application when they apply for the OHST or CHST. The form must accompany their application.
After the application is accepted, CCHEST will list you on the online honor roll for your accomplishment. In the future, recognition will be set up in our upcoming mentor/mentee directory.
We look forward to recognizing your contribution to the advancement of the safety profession through the achievement of certifications by your colleagues, peers, and other safety practitioners.
